If anyone is looking for me, I have found my forever home at Parnassus Books, and I will be moving in immediately. 

As you may have noticed in our posts, we are big fans of independent bookstores. And we try to visit one whenever possible when we travel. We have been to some really amazing ones, but for some reason this was my first trip to one of our most beloved local independent bookstores in Nashville! I am questioning why it took me so long!

If you are in the Nashville area, please add this to your list of places to visit!  The bookstore is owned by local award-winning author, Ann Patchett. She has written a beautiful piece on the importance of the independent bookstore which you can read here. 

Not only is this place an absolute dream to browse - they have an extensive children’s section, local author area, and gorgeous gift items - they also are one of the premiere venues for literary events. Almost daily, Parnassus hosts a book preview, an author signing, a children’s storytime, a book club, etc.

We spent a rainy Saturday morning there, and went home with quite a few new treasures. I really wanted to just curl up in one of the cozy corners and stay all day!  We will definitely be back again soon!
