Mom’s 2023 Holiday Travel Essentials Wish List

My holiday wish list this year consists of items in three main categories (that happen to all be my favorites) - travel, reading and organizing. Below are some of the travel items that I am hoping to find under the tree. Whether you are buying for a traveling mom, any adventure seeker, or even yourself, these gift ideas may be just what you are looking for!

I put this book on my list because it combines all three of my favorites - travel, reading and organizing. I would love to receive this book as a gift to help me plan and organize some more memory-making adventures for our family!

I have been meaning to get some hiking poles for a while, but after several rainy days on our Washington Road Trip, I decided to go ahead and put these on my wish list this year. These sturdy trekking poles are great for traversing slippery or rough terrain, and their lightweight, telescoping design make them perfect for travel.

I already have a set of packing cubes that I love, but I could use a few more for our bigger trips. As I have already mentioned, I love to be organized, and these are so helpful in keeping our suitcases neat and sorted.

I love tumblers for everyday life and also for our road trips. We try really hard not to use a bunch of single use bottles when we are traveling, and one of the best ways to do that is to make sure we have great tumblers and water bottles that we can reuse.

Eye masks are a must for travel. You can use them on a long flight, on a road trip, and in a hotel or vacation rental where there may be unexpected light at night. These come with a great travel pouch to keep it clean while you are getting from one place to another.

Our family loves National Parks and routinely plans our trips around visiting them as often as possible. This hilarious book is based on an Instagram account which makes fun of clueless and uproarious one-star reviews of some of our country’s most majestic National Parks.

I first saw this beautiful book on our New England road trip. I was initially drawn to the book because the cover seemed to be perfect for the trip we were on at the time. I have seen this book in nearly every bookstore I have gone into since, and it keeps getting harder and harder to walk away from it. This was a no-brainer for my holiday wish list this year.

One thing we never seem to have enough of when we travel is plugs. Between chargers and other items that need to be plugged in, I feel like we are constantly having to scramble to find enough plugs for all of our things. This all-in-one travel power strip fixes that problem with three outlets and three USB ports in one place.

We have white noise machines in all of our rooms at our house, but they are all too large to bring with us when we travel. In the past, I have used an app on my phone for white noise when traveling, but I really love this little noise machine with 21 sound options. It fits perfectly in any suitcase or carry on.

We haven’t really ever stayed any place where I did not feel safe, but the boys and I do occasionally travel without hubby. This portable door lock provides an additional layer of peace of mind and safety in those situations. It’s also a perfect size for a stocking stuffer!
